every time i pedal and then stop peddling my chain comes off and my rear sprockets keep turnin, what is wrong?

Sounds like your freehub is shot!
They're about $20 +/- depending on quality level.
Oh yeah, about 30 mins. shop time (I'm guessing flat rate time) to put it on!
