Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Starting this weekend I'm signed up for the MS150, and I'm planning on doing the Century option on Saturday, then ride the 76 back on Sunday, then the following weekend we have the 6 gap Century in N. Georgia. Already registered for that one, and right there I' think that is going to be hard enough, But my riding buddy wants me to ride with him on the Century the Saturday after that. I haven't commited to that one yet because I'm worried about recovery, especially after the 6 gap Ride.
So is this even doable? Or will I be biting off more that I can chew.

Wow, you are taking on a lot! I think it depends on how much you currently ride and how well you take care of yourself during each ride ( food, drink, mph etc...) I wish you the best of luck and would love to hear about it when your done.
Ride on,
Yvonne

Hector, have you lost your mind??? :D
If you've been training for that much riding it's doable, but ...

What's the 3rd century you're doing? Is it Oct 5 or 6?

If you are in fairly decent shape, 3 centuries are no big deal. Doing a 100miler is more of psychological barrier than a physical one. IF YOU ARE IN FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE. Otherwise play it by ear. If you recover OK from the first two, then decide about the third.

The secret to centuries is hydration and nutrition AND not trying to be the fastest rider in the group. Good Luck!

I think you will be OK if you take it easy in between. Just do really easy maintenance miles during the week (5 to 10 miles per day) and maybe take Wed or Thurs off.

when i did 600km in 3 days (24 riding hours) i was shot for a couple days. then i went out and did a one day 250km ride.

Yes, it's doable, but you just need to take it a little easier in between them. I wouldn't recommend not riding during the week, just riding at an easier pace. Above all else, listen to your body.

probably the best advice you can get, basically do not push it, and by the end of the 3rd week (if you are not training to crush these 3 centruies) you will probably feel pretty tired.

I would advise you to make sure you eat healthy and do not let yourself get run down, otherwise you could break down in the middle of a ride. Also get plenty of rest, your body will most likely need it.

This is also good advice. I think plenty of sleep will be in order here.

ChrisL is correct, Listen to your body, ration your energy, drink lots of water on and off the bike and eat a steady diet of high carb food diet, both on and off the bike. You can do it, it's mostly your mind that will get in the way. I do a 18.5 mile (each way) commute every day of the week, with loaded panniers on hilly roads, I do a century + on Saturday and a 50 to 75 mile pleasure ride on Sunday of every single week. Maintenance your body, maintenance your bike and enjoy the ride. Oh one more thing I 'm 47 years old and carry a 15 pound tool bag loaded with tools and parts on my rear rack on all rides, it's part of the bike.

Thanks everyone for the Advice and Encouragement!!

Yes I have been training seriously the last 2-3 months so I know I'm ready for the 1st one. and the Six gap is a personal goal, It does have a 50 mile option bail out, so I can always opt for that when that turn comes. But I would love to finish that one. So I think I will take LJ's advice and play it by ear for the third week and also make sure I get the rest I need in between. Thanks again everyone, your feedback is greatly appreciated..

I am sure it is quite a feesable programe, as long as you are in top physical shape and have built up a good endurance, training rides.

I completed my first century after increasing my distances gradualy over a couple of months.

The ride went so well and i enjoyed my century so much, 6 days later i did the same trip again, almost forgetting i had ridden a 65 mile trip in between.

I felt fine even after the 2nd century. I don`t think it would have harmed me to do another century the following week if i had been so inclined.

So i say go for it, good luck if you do!
