Animal lovers may want to look away!

That is just way too funny. Yeah I have a morbid sense of humor. So what they are saying is they build killer cars? ;)

Heh, both of the first links are not working anymore.

Yeah the sport ka commerical with the cat decapitation was pretty funny...but I do see where people can get offended.

That can't be real. How many takes would you need to get it right and having enough trained cats and birds?

I do not find that offensive at all. They are saying that their cars will prevent a "car bomb" because they are so well built and the add is prety damn funny. Now if they showed the bomb actually killing some one other then the bomber, well that would be a different story.

Did not bother me at all! I loved them both, although the bird one gets my vote.

Cat's hillarious!!! Wouldn't be tough to lure a cat up like that with some noise and food. Even the grabbing the head and struggle would be easy by just closing the sunroof a little. Then the rest is just CGI. I suspect the bird's real until halfway across... :)

I still like the Honda Cog Ad (http://194.29.64.17/thecog/movie.html) better than either of those, although they are all good.

The Cog owns all commercials...ever! Apparently they did in the end have to split it into two sequences, I was told due to space rather than any technical infeasibility. I forget how many takes it took them to get it right, but I want to say it was around 600. It's hard to believe that the same car company makes one of the ugliest vehicles on the market (the element) and has started taking styling cues from Hyundai (2006 Civic).

The bird one is funny. I think the cat one goes a bit too far. Actually, a lot too far.
a) The sequence in the cat one makes it appear that the car "lured" the cat.
b) The bird might be okay, but bonked, we don't know. We see the cat die.
c) The cat struggles for a bit, which is kind of horrible.
d) The falling head and later the body leaves no question as to what happined to the cat.
e) Cat paw prints are a lot easier to clean off a hood than bird poo.

So, whereas I think the bird one is pretty funny, I think the cat one is in terrably bad taste, if for no other reason than that it leaves no question and/or mystery in the mind of the viewer as to what has happened.

To improve/fix it, I would have let the cat get on the car before the sunroof opened, and then let the cat get away after a few seconds. Would have been a very different add.

Besides, who wants to find a severed head in their seat first thing in the morning? That's much worse than pawprints on the hood!

maybe the ashtray was right under the cat's head and big enough to hold it?

Letting the cat go isn't onpar with the "evil" thing.....maybe opening it's hood, and catching the cat in it, then driving off on a giant off-road rally....drives back into place, opens it's hood....and this terrified puffball of a cat walks out a few steps dizzilay, before falling to the ground. ....the evil sloagan can show up as it zooms to the cat on the ground, twitching it's hind leg.

If those are the cat and bird Ka ads... only the bird one aired.

The cat one definitely did not.

And neither did the suicide bomber advert.

All are simply superb adverts, and I say that as a cat lover, having the power to separate reality from adverts, unlike some here.

As far as I know none of those ads were shown in the regular way, only as part of programs about crazy ads.

I saw a bird go up in feathers on the highway yesterday. You'd think all the birds with the instinct to fly low over Mopac would be Darwinated by now, but no, birdy flies low and all I saw come past the van I was following was a puff of feathers...

and please tell me netauthority is a parody site. "The internet acceptable use policy?" Sheesh. But teh Internets have destroyed my sense of irony.

I did not find them funny at all. And it's a stupid little dorky looking car. In fact it's really not very creative at all either. There are much better ways at creating humor then killing and torturing innocent animals. For those of you who think it’s just a little joke it’s not. Trust me the advertising industry does everyting on purpose and here they are targeting young heartless business go getting back stabbers that live for them selves and all their possessions.

OMGI AM SO BAD BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY. Ill probably go to hell now. Well I already am, but trust me its not for finding humor in something thats funny. Get a grip on reality, loosen up a little and definitely laugh more - it's good for you. #2 way for lengthening your life and making sure you lose less hair.

No I am not. In fact I lived in a cabin in the woods of Indiana for one year and killed and grew my own food except for a very few times where I bought stuff.

Computer aided graphics or not you witnessed a cat being strangled to death and think thats funny. I don't and thats my point.

its called viral or stealth advertising. These ads get produced, without the intent of actual broadcast. Most appear to be european, but are produced in this country.

They get distributed like through emails and message boards similar to this. The advertiser saves a ton in broadcasts costs, and is not bound by conventional advertising standards and restrictions
