What tire do you all recommend using? I have a Giant Trance 3 and need to replace the tires because these are now close to being slick. Thanks.
For XC the Panaracer Fire XC Pros are the way to go.

what type of tire are you looking for?
a good allrounder- continental town & counry ATB tire, (pulled from my nashbar catalog)
one of the most poular police bike tires ever. Town & Country's are know for thier low rolling resistance on streets, yet off road thier unique negative tread design grips the trail or roadf amazingly well. $29.95
For a tire biased mor on off road, ive used panaracer fire XC Pro UST on my old hardtail and found them vey well. They also have the red stripe too.
Without knowing what type of terrain you ride on, or what type of riding you do, or what you are looking, this is a kind of hard question to answer. However, I'll give it a shot. Kenda Nevegal. Great traction for everything. Braking is great also. Amazingly low rolling resistance for how much traction you get. Cleans easily in mud, doesn't wear too much, great cornering. Simply an amazing all around tire. I use Kenda Klaw XT tires, because of limited selection (One con of big wheels.) and the compound is great. Maxxis Ignitors are what I use during the dry season. They are a 4X inspired tire, with low rolling, good penetration, and great cornering/braking traction.
I could go on, but If I were you I would get the Nevegals, unless you cannot justify forking over 80 bills for some new shoes for your bike. Panaracer XC firepros for xc riding.
