yeah so i turn 18 in two days but i cant really celebrate on a Monday so my parents bought me a rockhopper(they haven't bought me anything since 9th grade lol) , which i must say is mighty nice. its the 0'5 model v-brake version, and being the last 17' at the LBS, it was $419 (Cheap??expensive??). i am pretty sure this is specialized most basic model, manitou axel, shimano deore, yada yada yada and i am really looking forward to build this bike up!! any advice will be appreciated.

sweet bike, ABIK2NV, lol. Oh, yeah, its not a top of line version, otherwise you would have disc brakes, but im sure you have the mounts for em. Brakes usally seem to be the first bike upgrade.

Cool deal. I just got my Rockhopper yesterday. I think you got a better deal(price) than mine. By the way, mine was a Bday present to myself! Good luck with yours and happy Bday.

Just got the same bike ('05) in silver- the only thing I might do to mine is change the tires since the Specialized Adrenelines are a tad agressive for me. Good riding! :)

If it is, just so you know, thats a 2005 Women's model... not a huge difference and it doesn't look too girly (you could be a girl though for all I know), but you probably should know :)

So the only difference between the women's bike and the regular Rockhopper is a different fork (Manitou Axel Comp vs Manitou Axel Comp Diva - what the hell is that?, probably just different graphics) and a different saddle, on the blue/women's bike it has the BG Sport Woman MTB saddle. And after a quick look, the saddles are exactly the same in dimension and shape, it's just the colour and stitching that is different.

So basically, everything appears to be the same...other than colours.

Say what you want, but I think it looks pretty classy,

LOL!

That yellow one also is pretty sweet. Much better than that flame crap they had on the '05's. (some of them anyways)
