Is there a cheap-reliable tire for a cyclocross bike.

"Cheap" is a relative term, as a $40 tire might be pocket change for one and a huge expense for another. Check out cyclocrossworld.com and performance bicycles (you'll have to Google that one) to see what tires are available all over the price spectrum. Generally, Kenda makes 'cross tires for around $20 each if you're looking at price alone.
