- tks! heavy, heavy rain right now w/thunder and lightening...
- i fear the early a.m. 'cane arrivals more for some reason (darkness?)
- this will make my 7th 'cane in two years... it'd be nice to have a break...
- and those of you on the East coast: watch out! there could be some big ones in the next 5-10 years!

My son is a sheriffs deputy in Lee County (Ft Myers). Built a new house last year that survived Charley with only minor damage. Charley went about 20 miles north. Wilma, if she stays to couse will go about 20 miles south. My son will spend the hurricane on 24 hour duty. His wife and our grand children are riding it out at the house with friends whose houses may be more in harms way.
A long night ahead for us.

I live in such a vunerable area, I'm on a barrier island.
Our last serious hit was in 1962. Since we've had nor'easters that have done damage but nothing like a hurricane.
We're due.... and I say that with much hesitation.
My father lost his house last year in FL, my two best friends are in Palm Beach County and have bunkered down or left more times than they deserve.

Yeah, I have the TV-band radio on all night....
....the I have the joy of going into work at 2pm to get the systems all up and running.
....something tells me tonight is going to be a doozy.
....time to make a nice warm bowl of noodles....
