Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good floor pump for a road bike?

I swear by my Joe Blow Pro. I don't think it was part of the recall. It uses what Topeak calls a smart head that will ajust virtually automatically to schrader or presta, just slip it over the valve and the smart head does the rest. Great pump!
I run a shop, I have 1 pump I've been using for 15 years. They still make it, it sells for $39.00 retail. It will easily pump 230 PSI. It is a SILCA super pista with a combination presta/schrader valve head. Check Colorado cycles

MRFix,
I purchased a Silca pump from colorado cyclist and they said "this pump is the last pump you will buy." I used the pump for 2 months and then it stopped working. So I am reluctant to replacing that pump. I also read the reviews on mtbr.com and it got very mixed reviews. http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Pump/product_22520.shtml

Zefal Husky.
Heavy duty, wooden handle, iron base. Only change (which I did) was get rid of the nozzle, and replace with a solid brass Silca presta adapter. Works like a charm.

Ive had no problems with a Silca. Which bit of the pump failled? It all looks pretty simple to me.

I have a Silca floor pump with the wooden handle and it has worked well for years now. I think you can buy replacement parts for just about any part of the pump including the inside guts. The only thing that I have to periodically replace is the presta head rubber gasket that gets worn out after lots of use. I've used other people's pumps on rides and they never seem to work as well.

Some of the Joe Blow pumps were recalled. Not all of them. It's a good solid pump that moves a lot of air, has a fairly accurate gauge, is rebuildable and sturdy. Buy one.

Torelli,
I have used a Blackburn TrackPump Pro for at least several years now without incident. It's easy to reach the desired pressure, road or mountain. The head has a lever which twists from side to side to switch between Presta and Schraeder valves. It has been used with road tires for about a year. I usually go between 115-125psi without a problem.

One more vote for the Joe Blow. Had one a year now and no problems.

SILCA super pista
The King of pumps. Yes, they are completely rebuildable. There is something about using a Silca that is just right, like a Bianchi in Celeste Green.

Well I have a Silca wth a wooden handle (not sure what model it is) and about 2 weeks after I bought it, it started making a horrible scratching noise somewhere in the barrel. Also I have had a bit of trouble with the seal around the valve. Am I a moron, or is there a special trick to getting it to seal properly without having do it up so tight that you strip the skin off your hands when it comes time to remove it???

Man the Italians have style, I think I'd stop and offer to help - just to get a feel for the pump, of course.

Right. Note it's the Joe Blow Comp that was recalled. They have a plastic body and, I was told when I called Topeak, not many were sold. In addition, they replace them free with a better grade pump. Topeak's a class act, in my book.
Add my vote to the Joe Blow Pro tally. 5 year warranty to boot.

A reliable source informed me that she is the Silca Fairy. She appears after three strokes of the pump and completes the repair.

So I called them - and they are sending me 2 for free!!
