Just got back from the shop. Had them check on brake pads for my Grimece sys 17. 100USD per set. Damn. Each caliper uses 6 pads each. Have not had a chance to use the brakes yet but they better be worth it. From what I have heard they are suppose to be the sh** for dh. This bike I am building is going to be my dream dh rig so I am going to spend what I need to get the parts I want. I can not wait to get them on the bike but at the same time I am not looking forward to replacing pads. Guess there is a price to pay for exotic components.

No way that each caliper uses 6 pads each.....maybe your confusing pads with pistons.....there are 6 pistons in each caliper. If only you could find those pads online.....it looks like the system 8 and 12 pads are the exact same......maybe the 17's are the same too? $100 is way too much to be paying for pads dude.

Hydraulic - not floating - Double action - International Standard 51 mm - Light special aluminium alloy. Weight 217 grams.

This is all right from the Grimeca site.

The pads for sys 12 and 8 are also different from one another. Sys. 12 uses a larger pad then the Sys. 8. The sys. 8 is compatible with Shimano XT discs.
