Foo - Confused by California propositions?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Here (http://www.votecircle.com/) is a great place to start.

I'm not a great fan of proposition(initiative) system because it's decided by people who are not very informed because there haven't been a good un-biased information source before. Thanks to the Internet, there are more information available.

I take no stand in any of the propositions here because this is not Politics & Religion forum. Please try to keep this in Foo forum by not expressing your opinions, but keep this just for the information.

Thanks, allgoo19.

My wife is a teacher, so I know her stand on the props.

But I always read the text of the law anyway.

...I always read the text of the law anyway.

And that puts you miles ahead of most of the lawmakers.

Yeah, like all the guys that signed the Patriot Act in the middle of the night without even looking at it... :(

not sure what the subject is exactly - but knowledge is power. Often times the information is there - its getting people motivated enough to be concerned let alone getting them go looking for facts that they can believe.

The thing I'm trying to figure out with Prop. 78/79 is how the money gets shifted around. Trying to get some exact numbers and no one has any answers. For example, if the $10 enrollment fee bring in say... $1mil, how much of this goes towards administering the programme? Then exactly how much of a discount will the drug-companies actually give the State? Where is the money coming from that's going to pay for the difference if the cost-savings isn't as great as the fees charged by the program? I'm still undecided and the turning point for me will be the actual figures...
