Just wondering:

How many of you have bike parking in your office building?

If you didn't, would you be willing to pay for it? What if it had a shower and lockers?

Do not have bike parking, unless you count a seriously wussy (I.E. could be hacksawed by a 5-y.o. in 30 seconds) bike rack outside.

I wouldn't pay much. I have a desk so I don't need a locker (unless you mean a bike locker). I have a shower available but do not use it. I'm in such a low-crime low-bike area I use a cable to lock my bike to the above wussy rack and don't even worry about it.

I park my bike right next to my work area. We have showers and lockers. Also a place where I can hose off my bike in the winter to get the salt and ice off the bike.

I lean mine up against the wall next to the entrance to the building I work in. Our office and manufacturing buildings are in their own little "campus" about 1/4 mile off the main road. I like to think no one I work with would mess with my bike so I just leave it unlocked with whatever gear was on it. I do walk by it a few times a day but that's as far as I go towards protecting it. I would not pay money for a shower/lockerroom/parking area because of my circumstances. If I worked in the city, I probably would. I seem to get by washing in the bathroom sink and taking my work clothes to and from work everyday on my bike.

We have a bike rack, but due to security issues we can't bring any kind of bags inside the building. And we have to wear suits.

If I leave a bag of clothes on the bike, they stand a good chance of not being there someday.

Luckily it's only three miles from home, so walking seems to work better. Then all I have to do is change my shoes, which I can leave in a very small locker at work.

Bike comes into the lab offices with me (no lock) and there are showers in one of our areas...I am lucky right now. 2 others ride as well one of which is the lab director one of my bosses. It is a bike friendly environment. Just hope the building sup doesn't over rule some day.

racks in the open-but-patrolled underground parking area. it's a huge business park and many of the buildings i've seen seem to have racks around their person somewhere. there's always four or five bikes in the rack i park in, unless it's raining. showers via complimentary membership in a health club belonging to a hotel in the same park. my stuff just stashes itself under my desk.

never had to pay for parking a bike. shower access sometimes, if it's through a membership deal. the current one's free and they hand out towels . now that i would definitely pay extra for: not having to huck soggy towels home.

We have a locked, outdoor cage with good U racks. There's a surveillance camera and there's usually an armed officer standing nearby. So, it's pretty safe.

We have a secure controled access courtyard with a bike rack, armed guards, and the bikes are logged in and out.

I don't think I'd pay for parking unless it was out of the elements.

Last three jobs:
1. bike rack in underground parking garage (so out of elements and fairly invisible crimewise)
2. could bring bike indoors (hallway or kitchen)
3. outdoor bike rack but suburban location (didn't worry about theft)

If I was working somewhere that had high bike theft I might be willing to pay a small amount for access to a bike locker. But one great thing about bike commuting is its free so it seems odd to pay to park.

1. and 2. also had showers in the building (but I didn't use them) 3. I worked up enough sweat to want a shower but no showers. Again seems odd to pay for showers, I think it should be something offered by the employer to encourage employees to use more sustainable modes of transportation.

My building has a covered bike rack in the basement loading dock area, controlled access and in view of a security guard station. I lock the bike, but don't feel I really need to. I've known others who simply leave the bike in the rack without locking and have never had a problem. I also often use an outdoor uncovered rack near the front entrance of my building because it is easier to access.
I would be willing to pay for bike parking since it is my primary means of transportation. However, I would not expect to pay as much as my motor vehicle dependent co-workers simply because the costs of providing bicycle parking are a mere fraction of the costs for providing auto parking.
My building has a health club which provides showers and lockers to members. However, I've never joined since my commute is pretty short and I would rarely use the facilities.

Just had a new extension built at work with 4 wet rooms. V. nice. Quite a few people go running here at lunchtimes so they were a sensible addition. Would rather pay for a shower than have no shower. Have large locker and lots of office space and secret basement hiding place for my bike so am pretty well sorted.

I park in the warehouse/lab/temp office part of our building. The concrete floor and lack of finished walls means management doesn't really care. However my bike often gets moved around as out office is so crowded that every nook and cranny not in active use is used for storage so my bike is occasionally in the way. I ride an '80s steel road bike converted to fixed gear so I'm not concerned that someone will damage it. Its worth it to keep the bike inside out of the weather.

I park my bike here in the hallway of the office. Since there are only 3 of us here, nobody minds my bike and it's not in the way. No showers here, but I change and wash up in the bathroom. When I ride my old MTB, I lock it outside to a column of the porch since I don't like carrying that one up the stairs.

I have to lock my bike to a handrail outside on the handicap ramp (on the other side, not on the sidewalk). It's out of the way and secure. They were supposed to be putting in a rack for us but I doubt it will happen, plus I'm not sure they would install it correctly.

No showers here either. It would be nice to have good parking and a shower, but I'd never pay for it. If my employer wants to take those steps (isnt going to happen) that would be awesome, but I feel it's their building and their responsibility. For now I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. It's working for now...

I park by a heavily-used front door in view of several offices. I might consider paying for indoor HEATED parking.

In the ramp behind the building there are bike racks and bike lockers. Racks are free, lockers are $75 a year rental. I like the locker because of the out of site out of mind aspect. I can leave the $300 light on the bike when I go into the building. I've got a room where I can stash the bike in pinch inside if I have to but I've been given mixed messages on weather or not they are allowed inside. We have two showers but I don't usually need them.

We have an indoor bike rack in the lobby. We also have a shower. I would hate to pay for such things, as I figure I'm already doing a good deed by riding my bike. Why would anyone want to discourage it?

I park my bike in our cafeteria. I suppose I could park it in my cube or our empty row of cubicles.
A locker would be nice but I really do not need one. My desk has more than ample space and locking drawers.

We have a bike room with racks, clothes lockers, and showers. the room is inside, and no one ever locks their bikes down there.

Same. With the Dahon folder it's super-easy too. At a previous job there was a pair of locked bike sheds with racks inside. I would always use a lock on my Lemond there as backup. It was a research installation in the middle of the sticks so I wasn't too worried about theft but you can't be too certain, I suppose, especially with a decent bike. Anyhow, the folks who put the sheds there put some thought into it, placing them at the entrance nearest to the bathroom which had the shower.

I park in a heated underground bikes-only room with key-code access. If I go out to have a few pints on a Friday, I can easily get in on the weekend to retrieve it. I don't even lock it up, since it's worth half of the other bikes in the room and it looks like a sketchy build.

I've ditched the SUV at work and park my bike in there. I've also parked the bike in the shower room, since I am the only one of a hundred employees who use it.
