In my opinion this is the best deal for a tri bike anywhere, right now...

http://www.all3sports.com/product_info.php?pName=quintana-roo-santo-2005

A lifetime guaranteed Titanium frame with a vision tech front end, with the Quintana Roo name all for $1600. If you're a 51 or 55 and thinking about a bike, it doesn't get too much better. I probably would be all over this if it weren't for the custom steel frame that will be ariving at my door soon enough. If you don't fit a 51 or 55, a Kilo can be had in any size for $1000, still an amazing deal.

I don't work for this site, I just thought people might want to see this stuff.

What is the ballpark difference in size of road vs tri bike? I am about a 58 on a specialized road. ( 6 foot 1180 average reach)

Hey Psychofish, usually your top tube will be about 1-2cm shorter, so if you're on a 8cm top tube road bike, you'd be on a 56-57 top tube tri bike, but like road bikes, size names and actualy sizes are not always accurate.

I ride a road with a 55cm top tube road bike. I ride a 53-54cm top tube tri bike.

I was just fitted for a tri bike. I ride a 56cm Specialized road bike. The tri bike that fit was a 54cm. The LBS fitter said rule of thumb is you go one size less on a tri vs. road.
