Foo - Men's Health Magazine: My passport to the unspoken book of rules

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Men's Health.
An outstanding publication, dedicated to health, nutrition, excercise and lifestyle.
As a well as more than a few amusing articles depicting the female psyche.
Is it me, I can't be the only woman that finds this magazine intruiging.
I had no idea there was so much to learn!
Never heard of it. The only magazines I subscribe to are IEEE, Entrepreneur, and Bicycling (only because Performance gave me a free subscription). Did I just admit that?

Kirke, don't believe it. Men's Health is dare I say worse than Cosmo. If you want real insight into men's psyche, temper the Men's Health with Cargo --it's a little more grounded. But then again, Carmen Electra isn't on my top 5 babes list, so maybe it's me.

Previous IEEE subscriber here. :) Of course....that's like saying "I watched an action movie without specifying which one"....there are sooooo many IEEE publications that you have to specify which ones. Of course, I was a Computer Engineering grad student when I subscribed, so obviously mine were related to Computer Engineering. I'm guessing they have some bioengineering ones that you subscribe to?
I just get the plain student mag. No special additional subscriptions, and I don't plan on renewing since I'm not a club officer anymore.

Cargo? hmmmm........
Men's Health had an article in the current issue that was based on a survey of 2000 Cosmo readers!
How funny you should mention that!

As for getting insight into men's psyche, forget it! We're about as easy for women to figure out as it is for men to figure out women... http://www.gururacing.com/imagesmisc/graemlins/graemlin-tongue.gif

Men can be understood by reference to the five basic life categories: toys; meat; beer; not doing the laundry; and only really liking chocolate chip cookies when they're homemade.

umm - did you forget sex? and what is up with guys not doing laundry. It takes me like 1 minute to throw everything in my washer and put it on regular and push the nozzle, then toss it in the dryer 2 hours later.

I would have thought sex fell under toys and beer.

Not under 'meat'?

He's married, that erases sex from his existence forever ;). I don't even eat meat or drink beer... I'll substitute sex and liquor in those categories, and it'll be close...

I thought it was
1)toys
2)beer
3)food
4)sex
5)recliner
Now for the win, it's sex on the recliner, with beer and pizza on the endtable next to it, while assembling a lego mindstorms creation.

"Married with Children" was not a documentary.
Plus, I've posted picture of my sons, so that's at least twice.

hey I do my own laundry -- and prefer doing it instead of trusting the sig other, who inevitably messes something up. Like drying something that has to be hung, etc etc. What can I say, I'm a little metro....

What the hell has to be hung instead of dried? Maybe Slvoid should sell you his glitter lotion.
Excuse me, I have to go club dinner now.

hmmm, yeah i'll have to agree with that. men are not easy to figure out.
I thought it was
1)toys
2)beer
3)food
4)sex
5)recliner
... but, but... *confused, flips through men's magazine*... but i always thought it was
1) food
2) sex
3) food
4) toys
5) beer
6) recliner
but, hey what do i know?
Catatonic posted the engineer's version. Notice that toys take first place and sex is only greater than interior design :D. For these men, I suggest pulling out all your childhood legos (now disassembled and in a large single box), the instruction manuals (of COURSE you saved them), some beer, and putting on a large pot of chili. Alternatively, a broken microwave will work.

Men put us on a track give us a push and we kinda go where you want us to. may need to be pushed back on track once in a while..
1)toys
2)beer
3)sex
4)food....... If you have beer do you really need food?
5)my chair....finally a recliner
i can't understand how people put one thing over another... for me it all depends on the situation... when you look at the needs over time they all come out to be equally important... how do ya'll prioritize things?

Yeah, but you don't stand back and average time. That's hindsight after the fact. The only time that matters is right now. And in the moment, sex wins all the time! :) Here's my list:
1. sex
2. toys
3. liquor
4<->5. food <--> recliner (this is the only one i'm wishy-washy over)
actually all the times matter... a choice made now effects the reality later... and the desired reality for later effects the choice now.

I umm, built my own lego contraptions to the point where I diagrammed out my own instructions and considered sending them in to Lego. Yeah, I'm that kind of geek. Aren't you jealous.

I don't even understand guys and I present as one!
Cosmo is an interesting magazine, too much about having sex though, never really cared for mens magazines for the content, FHM and Maxis, playboy, big deal, they have scantly clad woman... oh hooo!
My favorite is hot vw's and vw trends...

I biult my own stuff too, but never took the time to diagram it all out. That's why everything is in pieces now. However, I think it would be cool to have all of the original old Lego designs to sit on my shelf.
My favorites were the small kits that all came in one bag. I'd assemble them in the bag (yup, instructions were in the bag too, but it was small enough to figure out). My parents liked to make me wait to open them so this irritated them.
