Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am interested in buying a Sampson Bike. Does anyone have experience with this company?

I have a 2000 Sampson Silverton. Love it!!! I don't live near Colorado so I had to do the fitting by phone with Eric Sampson. He spent quite a bit of time with me talking about not only my measurements, but what style of riding I did and what kinds of roads I was going to be on. He didn't push me to buy either. I called about 3 times before I decided to lay out the money. He called me back about 2 weeks after I got the bike to make sure it was OK.
I'm impressed by the quality and the ride for the money. Like I said, love the bike.
And no, I'm not a relative and I have no investment in the company.

He called you back and asked how you like the bike? Nice. That is really really nice. Somewhat unheard of these days.

I've heard lots of good things and was this close to ordering one myself when the Litespeed Classic I now ride showed up in a local shop for about the same price. Seems like there was a review of a Sampson Kalispell (road bike) in a summer or fall 2000 issue of Buycycling magazine, if you want to go to the library and rummage through old magazines. I think his frames used to be CP (chemically pure?) Ti, but now he uses 3Al-2.5V alloy Ti, which isn't as flexy.
