The main street through town is undergoing major construction, as a result cage jockeys are shooting down sidestreets to avoid long waits at traffic lights in busy intersections.
For the last two plus years I have commuted along the back streets year round, always going a little out of my way to avoid busier streets, now the traffic has moved onto what I consider "My Streets". Today there was a conflict of interest, here's what happened.
This morning Joe Fourbyfour did a rolling stop through a intersection in which I had the right of way, he either didn't see me or couldn't be inconvenienced by a fool on a bicycle. I slowed to a near stop to avoid hitting him and gave him the hardest stare I could muster hoping to convey my displeasure with his inconsiderate driving and then continued on my way.
Not 5 seconds later I hear the screech of tires and KABOOM, seems that Sammy Sedan has done a rolling stop through the next intersection up the street at which Joe Fourbyfour had the right of way, only, unlike the fool on a bicycle, Mr. 4X4 was going way to fast to stop.
Aw shucks, I know I shouldn't be smiling as I type this, but I really can't help it :D
