This weekend we shall ride. We shall ride for fun, for exercise. We shall ride to relax, to be close to nature. We shall ride because we can.
This weekend we had a comrade fall for the last time. He fell doing a sport that he loved to do, that brought him pleasure.
May he continue riding on in peace never falling again.
Although his name is unknown, let us ride one singletrack, one downhill, one fire road, one road, one race in his memory and reflect on the fact that we all participate in one of the best sports in the world and that we are still healthy enough to do so.
I think that the worst part of this whole thing, early this morning he was able to call his wife and all he could say to her was,"I need help." Yes loosing his life is horrible but can you imagine what she was feeling not being able to do anything? Sucks.
