I just picked My De Bernardi at the powder coating shop at lunch and I can’t wait to put all my crap back on it tonight. I hated the crappy red paint that was on it so it is now some form of yellow with lime metallic flakes

Thanks
What sucks is I busted my master link on my chain taking it off. I figured it would take around a week to get my bike back. I would have plenty of time to order a new one. I dropped it off yesterday at noon , The guy called me at 9 this morning telling me it is done They had to use the same flake on something else so they stayed a little later and finished my frame :D :D :D
wow, nice service. how much did that cost?

Did you strip and prep?
How much did it cost?
Do they run many bike frames or did you have to convince them?

The place was not the cheapest place around here but they where the friendliest on the phone and had a great selection of colors. The shop looked like they did mostly custom stuff. They had a hotrod body there, some lawn furniture and what looked like a dune buggy frame being powder coated when I went there to pick up my bike today . They also had a custom chopped bicycle in the office. He said they powder coat bikes for some team but I forget who it was.
It ended up being close to 2 bills for (aluminum) blasting prep and coating. It would have been cheaper if I did not get the flakes. I found a few places that where a lot cheaper but did not include the prep or have the color selection.
I am happy with it
Here is a link to the place

where did you get it done? I'm looking for someone to coverup my stock paintjob locally...
[edit]**deeerrrrrrrrrrrrr** i see it above...
Before the build, I'd rec:
Tap and Face BB shell, Head Tube
Chase any threads you plan on using
Reaming or sanding of inside top of Seat Tube

Here is what it is looking like so far. I need to order a new Miche Bottom bracket to complete it. The person who owned it before me had a DA bottom bracket with Miche Cranks which have different tapers. I always thought the crank looked slightly crooked.
So if anybody is looking for a 7410 (I think that is the number) Italian threaded bb let me know.
So far I am really liking the way it turned out. I am not sure about decals yet. Does anybody know where to get De Bernardi decals ? Maybe I will make some custom ones.

thats why it's your bike, not his.
as far as decals go, try emailing debernardi and say something like "your paint sucks, but i like your bike, so i repainted it, hook me up with some decals sicne i went through the trouble, and i still want to advertise for you."

Your bike looks great.
Makes me wish I didn't go the DIY Rustoleum route, but then again, mine gets locked up so much, most paint wouldn't stand a chance after a few months.

Yellow frames look good. Nice work!
Decals would be easy. But if you live near a working sign painter, you might think about having the lettering done by hand.
metallic flake paint jobs == pure sex.
