Road Cycling - "FELT Opinions" or "How to Search"

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Try to search the forum for "Felt Bicycles" and find out how people "Feel" about their "Bikes" :(
I am looking at what seems to be great deals on road bikes from Felt. I haven't had a chance to see or ride one yet but I am planning a visit to a bike shop soon that has them. Until then, has anyone had any experiance with Felt? Do they have great deals, or is something up like cheap frames or bad paint or something. They have a full 105 equiped bike for less than $1100.00. And Ultegra for less than $1400.00. Both look purdy to me. Giant had better watch these guys.

The reason you won't find a lot of people with experience on FELT bikes is that they only started selling them in the U.S. again last year.
Our shop became a felt dealer a couple months ago and so far I think theyre pretty good. For our stock road bike lines we also carry Cannondale, but they tend to be a little more pricey because of the frame quality. The felts fall in o the next category, as they are a little more value conscious with a frame made overseas, but with nicer components for the money. The frames look pretty sweet to me and we havent had any problems yet.
Here's an example for comparison
FELT F-65 - Aluminum frame - nice looking black components - useable saddle - FULL 105 group - MSRP - $1,099
CANNONDALE R600 - Better USA made aluminum frame, wierd euro wheelset - useless saddle - house brand cranks and brakes - rest 105 - MSRP - $1,199
Felt looks like a pretty good deal to me even though the frame is imported. Blows trek out of the water anyways, and looks a hell of a lot better:)

there is only 1 shop here in Vegas that sells Felts, and I have yet to see any on the road. However, as I understand it they are a pretty good 'bang for the buck' bike...

OK the bikes might be assembled in the US but im pretty sure the frames aren't. I think Its kinda like Trek as they contract their lower end frames overseas and build the really trick stuff in house in cali. I dont think the frames being made overseas detracts from their quality though. The frames look top notch to me. It just makes the bikes a darn good deal;) We've been a FELT dealer for a few months now an have a pretty high opinion of their bikes.

I know when i got mine in Jan. they told me they were made right down the street but last night i went out and looked at mine and no where on the bike does it say usa or a flag like cannondale does.Really doesnt matter.I was told the 7005 alum frame they use is better.I couldnt fine a better deal with 105s and ultegra rear derailluer, aero rims at 21.3 pounds.Very happy at $899
