converting a mtb frame to a cyclocross bike - need a rigid fork and was wondering if i could run a cross fork (700c) on the front end without messing the geometry up too much. already have the rear end figured out to run 700c by using a mavic brake adapter that i picked up.

anyone know if this is possible?

seems like a simpler solution than running a 26" rigid fork with another mavic adapter.

any help is appreciated. thanks.

I did my old Manitou HT up with an eccentric eno in the rear for clearance for 30mm cross tires. I put an Aerus cross fork on the front, and the angles ended up about the same. The frame was built for about a 50mm suspension fork, and the 700c adds about that much (approx). If your frame is built with a longer travel fork in mind, it may make steering a little bit twitchy (this depends on what the head angle was on your frame to begin with, though).
