Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - WTF? Forums redirecting me to profile page - AGAIN!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

OK, this happened a while ago and you guys couldn't figure it out. Happened again today. Clicked on my bookmark for bikeforums and after loading the home page, it immediately redirected me to my profile page. Problem is, it wouldn't let me just save (no changes) and continue. So I entered a bogus ICQ number and I was able to get back to the forums.

So... do you guys have a mandatory profile update interval? And if so, why can't I just hit save be done with it?

Having to change something to get the stupid hall monitor to let me pass is really annoying.

Edit: Oh yeah, my computer just - for some reason; I didn't do it - cleared most of my cookies. I had to relogin to this site (I have the "remember me" enabled) as well as some others.

And for more info, mtbr forums made me do the same thing; do you guys use the same forums host/provider?

Well, it's resolved in that I can now get to the forums, but is this something that is supposed to happen every so often? I HAVE to do something to my profile page to update it and use the forums?

Are you getting an error? A popup when you get redirected?

For two days I could not get in to the "view new posts" forum. All I could get was the "todays posts". Finally after logging in (which I had never had to do before) I was able to view new posts. I did not even think about anything being wrong until I read the thread from skiahh.

Not that I know of, though I do have an effective popup blocker that might be killing one.

Odd I would try clearing the cookies. It is likely something in there redirecting you. DNS is correct and this seems pretty isolated :)
