Does anyone know anything about the Bianchi Alfana. What years were they produced?? When did Bianchi stop production of the Alfana model? what was the MSRP??? Are they any good??? Are they bad???? I DO know that the Alfana was Bianchi's entry level road race bicycle, that the frame is STEEL, and that it came equpped with the Campy Veloce gruppo. And most importantly, does anyone have any idea what one of these ALFANA's is worth in today's glutted USED market????

Go see what they're fetching on the online auction sites, or is that where you're looking at one? I sold a '93 Alfana on e-bay about 1 month ago. Other than being an entry level racer, very different spec than what you're asking about.

Why are you looking at a bottom of the barrel outdated bicycle??? Even with great components the Alfana frame is still junk. bianchi makes some great bikes but the Alfana is definitely not one of them!!! I don't know what kind of money you have, but you should increase your budget and stay away from entry level bicycles. Alfana's regularly fetch $200 to $300 on ebay. For $600-$700 you can get yourself a used 2000/2001/2002 lemond or cannondale with upgraded components on ebay. What are you waiting for. go buy!!!

I know I'm replying to an old thread but this one comes up often on Google when searching for info on Bianchi Alfana.

'91 or 92' Alfana, it is an entry level race bike with Tange Prestige tubing, double butted, lugged, very light and strong material, "almost" Reynolds 853. It has 14 spd (double), with full Shimano 105 (downtube). It is very comfortable and fast.

Original equipment for Japan made:
Tange Prestige double butted, lugged cr-mo frame, Cr-mo fork, Full Shimano 105 group, Levin headset, Araya wheels, Vittoria tires, Sakae stem and seatpost, Nitto Custom handlebar. Orig. weight is 22.6lbs when I measured with digital scale. MSRP from Japan 1991 catalog is Y108,000 or $1200US approx, don't know in current $.

The Bianchi road bike 1991 catalog line-up was
1. Proto Y660,000 approx $7,100US
2. X-4 Y520,000 approx $5,600US
3. Mondiale Y350,000 approx $3,800US
4. Super Leggera Y260,000 approx $2,800US
5. Giro Y210,000 approx $2250US
6. Virata Y148,000 approx $1600US
7. ALFANA Y108,000 approx $1200US
8. Trofeo Y83,000 approx $900US
