Hi, Can someone explain to me the difference betwen band-on and braze-on Campagnolo front derailleurs? How do I know which one I can use - or have to use - for a Colnago C50? Thanx.

Some frames have a small bracket brazed to the seat tube. This is used to attach a "braze-on" front derailleur. Without this bracket you must use a derailleur with a clamp. The C50 is carbon fiber, I think, so it would not have a braze-on bracket. Be sure you get the right size clamp for your seat tube.

Yes there are. I have a full carbon frame with a braze on mount, but it isn't actually brazed on as that would be very bad for the carbon ;).

My C50 has a braze-on front derailleur.
The braze-on types are normal for CF frames. The bracket is fastened to the tube with rivets or screws, not actually "brazed on" as they may be on steel frames.
Al
fastened to the tube with rivets and glue, normally
