I own a Scott Octane FX-1 Freeride mountainbike. I rode my new bike since last year June. Now, the pads are not retracting back into the calipers, and are locking up my discs. I have Formula brakes. I have tried to adjust the adjusting screws and the handle adjusting screws, but have not had good results. All I am looking for is a few hints to what I can check next.

have you ever changed the pads? I'm just taking a guess but I really couldn't tell unless I could see the brake and work on it. But if the pads are really worn maybe the piston is pushing to far out of the caliper and is having a hard time retracting because of that. Or maybe you could put a little lube on the piston and the rubber seal incase everything is starting to get a little dry from riding in the mud. I don't know if I can give me some other info maybe I can help a little more. Also have you ever bled the brakes? maybe its a combo of there bieng air in the system and the pads bieng worn...I really don't know, just trying to help.
