Hi all - well, the time has come to sell the Raleigh. I bought it this summer knowing it was too big for me and it's just been collecting dust while I walk by again and again hoping the frame shrinks, but it never does. :)

I bought it from the original owner who had it in his garage for years and finally wanted to make room for other things.

I'll probably stick it up on craigslist for the DC area later today, but I thought I'd put it up here first.

Anway, here are the specs:
1978 Raleigh Competition GS
22" center to center (of the head tube to seat tube).
23.5" center of crank to top of seat tube.
33" standover.
Very good condition.
Black.
531 Steel.
Campagnolo GS group, all original.
Orignal chain.
Brooks seat, orignal and not broken in.
Original cloth bar tape, very good condition.
Original Wienmann rims and brakes, very good condition.
I just trued the rims and centered the brakes, and they work very well.
It has the original Weinmann brake pads, which are in very good shape.
I put new on rim tape, new Specialized tubes, and 2 new Armadillo tires.
Original Campagnolo pedals and Christopf leather toe straps.
All stickers are there and in good shape, except the "5" in the 531 sticker is scraped. The paint below it is perfect, and the rest of the decal is fine, but the 5 itself is scraped off. All the other stickers ("carlton","made in england", etc ) are in great condition.
I even have the original wheel reflectors, front and rear reflectors, as well as the chrome frame pump mount. Unfortunately, I don't have the pump.
Paint is in very good condition with a few minor surface scratches. Chrome chainstays are in great shape too. No rust!

It really rides and shifts like a dream and I wouldn't be selling this bike if were my size ( I need a 29-30" standover height).

Price: $450.00

I'm in Alexandria Va and it would be for pickup only.
PM me and I'll get you details on how to contact me.
Thanks
Alex
