Here's me, as The Fly (1958 version). General response: Nobody wanted to stand next to me to eat their somosas at the pot luck. I did have fun saying, "You know, I landed in that potato salad."

Close-up. (Can't seem to attach two pics on one post.)

Okay, everybody. As they say in Nova Scotia, "Pitter patter, Let's get at 'er." Let's get a squint at those costumes.

Sorry, not really in the spirit this year. Thought about going as Dimebag Darrell, but I never got the dye for my goatee and I'd have to get a wig to pull it off. Plus, he didn't wear glasses and I don't have contacts. Still might dye my goat' in tribute. Maybe next year....

haha my friends the man,

First off hes a total geek, computer wiz etc.

So almost everyday during the winter he wears a trench coat just because. Today he slapped on some aviators, small though, not too huge, and a had that was put really low. When his parents asked him what he was going to be for Halloween, he said"IM going to be a serial killer" :D I thought that was pretty funny.

But all I am going to be is a kid with a pencil. I have sooooo much work today and this week. *Sigh*

Do I have to BUMP my own thread to see costume pics? (answer: evidently ) Double-you tee eff? This is usually a pretty gregarious bunch. I had such high hopes, too.

No costume. Here's what I did:

Earlier in the week, I set up a video camera in my driveway and shot some video in my garage.
Then I used an Avid system to edit in a bunch of special FX.
Then projected it back up onto my white garage door.
So it looked like my garage door was open, and I was inside getting my head chopped off, etc.

You do realize if I show you my costume, I'm going to be banned from the Internet for life right?

I drove up to my sister's house in Ulster County, NY this past Halloween. We all went together to Woodstock, NY for the big outdoor Halloween party.

Woodstock, NY hosts a massive outdoor Halloween-fest -- probably 2-3 thousand people. It's not uncommon to see celebrities in attendance. David Bowie was there one year, Steven Spielberg is also a regular.

Here are a couple of pictures that I took at this year's Woodstock Halloween bash.

I look like one of the Village People 40 hours a week. Plenty of costume action for me. Google your own damn photo. You just have to guess which one fits.

My buddy John on the left as the disco king.

Me on the right as a parrothead, searching for my lost shaker of salt.

My costume wasn't much of a stretch from what I usually wear...I was lazy this year.

Taken many years ago - me in a fashing (fasnacht) costume.

No halloween in Germany but in the spring, this multiweek celebration scares off evil winter spirits.

Every town has it's own "guild" responsible for a unique costume. Some are similar to others but each is unique from all other towns in at least some subtle way.

Witches (hexen), animals (insects, squirrels, beavers) or jesters are pretty common. Occassionally you see other stuff (cowboys?!)

Our town, Grafenhausen, had a classic "hexe" costume. I made the wooden broom and the rest of the outfit. (I was 9 years old for these pics BTW)

Fashing beats Halloween hands down - 3 weeks of country-wide parades where they throw candy for the kids, grab good looking women and write stuff on their bellies with a grease pen and generally act goofy.

Good times. I'd go back just for that. :)

BTW: this year I was a Satyr, complete with furry leggings, hoofs and horns. No pics, unfortunately. :\

I was Snow White (of course a princess!). I'll post a picture if I ever get around to downloading them on my computer.

My husband went as Prince Charming's evil twin. He knocked off his brother so he could hook up me!! That was his story!!!
