Bike Parkign around 44th and 6th? (NYC)

Just got offered a position at a firm at 44th St and 6th Ave. While my current firm on Lex in the 40s has a bike room, this new one does not have any bike accomodations.

Anyone know of garages in the area that'll like a bike park for a fee? How iffy is locking up a beater to street furniture with a hefty chain? TIA for any advice...

check the transportation alternatives website for garage parking. I think the NYC DOT also has a list of garages that will take bikes. I parked mine for a few months at a garage on park and 59th (don't remember for certain if it was 59, but it was a garage listed on the website) and I think the web info is generally reliable, but you should actually go to the garage with your bike to confirm.

looks like the closest is 8th and 40th and charges $$.
