From another forum:

I've sure gotten old. I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license!

yikes! i see the humor, but....

that actually reminds me of my last visit to my parents' house where they and some friends were talking about driving while distracted and blowing through stop signs and this and that ticked for awful driving and laughing it up, and i guess in some aspects the stories were funny, but listening to them as a cyclist, a big part of me was thinking "that isn't funny. how funny would it be to hit someone" and feeling sort...uneasy about sharing the road with people like that. funny how to ride a bike your mind becomes so vigilant you can't ride inattentively (at least i can't), yet drivers, posing a much greater danger, feel no need to pay much attention to anything. just sad.

You know you're old when you see a pretty 18 year old girl and your first thought is, "Wow, I bet her mom/grandmother is hot!"

ha ha...that's funny...anyone else like the fact that riding on a bike gives you enough time to scope out pretty girls and lets you ride off before anyone notices? not that that would be bad, but i'm shy and it makes me feel awkward...

Plus you can slap their butt and be gone before they get mad.

No, I have never done that, but I have seen it done once. The VERY pissed girl did a 360 to look behind and by the time she was looking foreward again the guy was long gone.

riding around central park, I definatly draft cute women more than I do big guys, even though the guys are better windscreens ;)

I remember feeling old the first time i was looking at a penthouse and the bio was like, i like long walks, sunsets, and she was 19. And I was like, damn, she could be my daughter! Well not if she wanted anything in the will.

But yeah, i go by schools and see mom's picking up there kids and think, damn, mom needs another one.

What this has to do with anything i dunno. Sometimes the truth hurts.
