I'm looking to buy a cheap used cross bike (under $300), or perhaps rent one for a few upcoming races in the SF area. Does anyone know anyplace where I can find a used bike besides craigslist? Know of any LBS's that sell used cross bikes or would rent one out for a race?

I'm also from SF. If you have not done so already, you should consider joining the SF Bike Coalition. Here is a link to the membership discounts page (which also doubles as a list of some great bike shops in the bay area!)

Check out a few of theese places. A few of them sell really nice used bikes for cheap. Also, there's a shot in the lower Haight called Refried Cycles. It's a 100% used shop, and I've seen some nice mid-90's Cannondales in there for $200-300.
