is it possible? for a fork?

i just got a sweet ass frame for a steal, but the fork is threadless, which i for some reason find all stems and headsets in that department butt-ugly and overbuilt. its 1", by the way.

no. Nor would you really want to. The forks are constructed differently.

if you want a pretty stem, http://jonnycycles.com/stems.html .

I don't even find those as attractive as a normal threaded stem and I sure as hell wouldn't pay $250 for one...nitto has a nice simple threadless stem on www.businesscycles.com...the CT-80 I believe its called.

that link doesn't work, and Thomson makes shims so you could use their new X2 stuff, but I have a feeling stem shims and/or Thomson stems are a sacrilege in this forum.

Get a new fork

A framebuilder should be able to put threads on that. If not, he/she should be able to swap the steertube off that fork. Might be cheaper to get another fork, might not be. Just keep in mind framebuilders can do pretty much anything.

the steerer tubes are different thicknesses. It's better to replace it or, better yet, just buy a new fork.

noted. still might call about pricing on that steertube. I had some work done to my frame and it was ridiculously cheap.
