Wonder if bike shoes stretch like regualar shoes? My little toes on my left foot keep falling asleep. Very new @ this, is it the shoes to tight or the position of the cleat on the shoe? I loosen the left shoe quiet abit yesterday but didn't seem to help. Should I go back to the LBS and see if I can get a wider pair? I'm only riding 8 to 10 miles. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have wide feet, I wear nike leather shoes for commuting and messing around, they thend to stretch out like regular shoes so they get to be rather comfy once broken in. I wear shimano sh-214 shoes to race, the are synthetic and don't stretch or break in, if they are uncomfortable at the start, they will stay that way. I wear lake mountain bike shoes, they are leather on top and tend to strech and get comfy as you warm them up. both the lake and the shimano have a wide foot bed and fit well from the start. sidi also makes wode shoes. the shomano, sidi and lake tend to be more costly then most, but I guess you get what you pay for.

MrFixis correct. Usually, if the shoes are that uncomfortable, they will stay that way. You didn't say if you had MTB shoes or road shoes. If road shoes, SIDI makes a Genius4 in Mega size (for the wider foot) - see http://www.sidiusa.com/
Sidi MTB = dominator4 in a Mega (wider) size. I think Sidi has the widest shoes available.

They are road shoes, going back to the LBS today and see if I can exchange for a larger size. I've only ridden about 40 miles with them. They look perfect, I hope they will exchange them for me.

Some shoes will stretch, (My Sedi Gen. 4 did by almost 1/2 a size!) others won't... (Carnac's Quartz road shoe does not stretch at all). The Sedi's are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned!!!

I normally wear size 11 in all my walking shoes. I bought Sidi Genius4's in size 11 aka 45. Put then on and they were to tight, period. I took them back and got the Mega version...and WOA...perfect fit and ab so lute ly the most comfortable bike shoe I've ever owned. Even comfortable with no socks on:)

Thanks for the info. Went back to the LBS & trading 10.5 for a 11.5 in different model, fit great. Exchange the others plus $20.
10.5 were just way to tight. The first pair had two straps, the new have three, seem to be a better shoe.

Garbear,
Glad I could help by recommending the Sidi's
