I finally got back on the bike this past Saturday after having a nasty fall and several other things that got me in a funk, and GOD I feel so much better!! The weather was absolutely perfect. It was 65 when I woke up, and it only got to about 85 for the high (earlier in the summer, it would start off at 85 :P ). It was an early morning ride (okay, so 8am is VERY early to me!), and I had to keep a warm-up sweater on for the first part of the 30-mile ride. I slept so horribly the night before, but I still felt better than I ever had when we got to our destination before heading back. I can't believe what a difference the temperature makes! I only started riding this summer, and I'm so used to nasty Memphis heat. I've known nothing else. My face turned red instead of bright purple like the first time I started a few months ago
AND I rode on my Frog pedals for the first time! Amazingly I never fell. I chalk that up to the fact that they were just darn easy to clip into! I'd keep one foot clipped in all the time, put the other foot on the pedal when starting off from a light, etc, and when I'd go to clip in, I'd find it was already there! Awesome! I'm nervous about using them on the trails though.
The only bad thing was that I ended up way in the back of the pack again (i.e. not even within sight of the people in front!) after a month of not riding. At least I was somewhere in the middle before! Oh well :) I'm still having a blast, I just hate to slow someone else down.
I did meet "Louis" from this forum, too. Hi Louis! :D
Anyway, I don't speak to any other cyclists daily, so you guys get to hear me gush!
