hey everyone

im burnt out from school and miss the good old days of summertime touring. im thinking of going up to new haven to see friends at the yale mfa open house on the 17th. will be riding one way back from new haven.

anyone done the new haven-nyc ride? any suggestions? i know r1 did it but i think ill avoid taking interstates as much as possible.

the greenway maps at http://www.greenway.org/maps.htm have some good info, but if anyone knows better, let me know.

The R1 race didn't take any interstates. It was all on Route 1 (hence the name). The only problem with the New Haven-NYC part is that Route 1 goes through the eastern most side of the Bronx which probably isn't too convenient. In any case it's only about 60 miles from the border of the Bronx. Some parts of Route 1 near New Haven are pretty busy (in terms of car traffic) but it's not terrible.
