At work riding the warehouse fixed gear (http://onesolidgear.com/jason/hammercircles.wmv)
A dumpster find, fixed out w/ a mig welder. The seatpan is covered with an old foam buffing pad. Like a waffled cheese head, for your bottom.

Jason,

any suggestions on welding the rear wheel's freewheel? Did you have to remove the side of the freewheel to be able to 'get inside' ?

Charles, I wouldn't recomend it at all :)
Nothing was removed, or even prepped, for that matter. This was just a fun bike for around work, not for use anywhere else.I doubt it would hold up very long under any other circumstances. It also has a welded chain, cuz I didn't have a chain tool handy.I am wary of this setup whenever I ride it.BTW, It now has a shopping cart sidecar for hauling parts.

Welded chain??? That must make a seriously stiff link... Doesn't it jump and jerk all over the place? Nice control on that freak, though. just to brag a bit: I'm already doing my backwards circles clipped in:) Feels great, no (serious) crash os far.

hahah.

my favorite part is the plastic rear hub chain guard thing. it reminds me of a bike you'd see in walmart if fixed bikes were ever picked up by them.

The music is Esquivel...pure genius of the space age bachelor pad genre.
Turd, we crack ourselves up, too! The warehouse is attached to the paint shop I run, mostly housing truck accessories and the like.I have one "employee", my friend, Matt. So it's actually more like a clubhouse, as we are the only two there all day. This week we peed in jugs and whipped 'em across the train tracks.
Naz, I can only do BW circles at work, where it's nice 'n' smooth. :)
I'm sure that this was a Walmart type bike. We called it the Sledgehammer , but that's kinda played out now, isn't it? There is a quite a nice fleet of freakbikes at work, actually....all fixed.
The chain had no masterlink, so we carefully ground the pin ends off, removed the sideplate, re-attached by welding the pin ends where they stick thru the sideplate. How to install a chain when you just don't really care.
I have never typed this much in my life. Maybe it's the trucker speed. ;)
