Winter Cycling - The snow has arrived......

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

yep, we got snow here in Munich for the first time last night. It was right about freezing so the snow only stuck on the cars and about half of the grass surfaces. Only about 1cm in total... and it mostly melted by the morning (i was out late at Octoberfest)
we have already gotten a fair amount of snow in the mountains and they may have to cancel my MTB race this weekend or change the course, because the highest pass is 1900m!
probably another 4-5 weeks before i mount the studded tires on the commuter...
i'll keep riding through the winter, but mostly for commuting, but i've ready for ski touring! but the season's not over - i have a race this weekend and then going to Lake Garda Italy for 4 days the following weekend --- a little furthert south for (hopefully) a last few great climbs and trails for the year.

Ditto for Northern Colorado ... the resorts are starting to get some snow, but nothing up near the Colo-Wyo. border yet ...

Alta ski resort picked up 15" of snow in the last 24hrs... The ride i did last week is now snowed in, with over a foot of the fresh stuff on the roads. As far as i know, they havent sent up a plow yet.

I'm starting to get fed up by the warm and dry weather we have since mid-May or early June.
We had two cool days in September (10-12°C) and are having one now (13°C), but we still might expect temperatures in the 20s next weekent. No snow in sight yet.
