I was going pretty fast down a very steep gravel drive I usually ride up to get to the park. I figured I'd be ok because I knew the road and I was watching for vehicles, but I hit about 3" of gravel on a corner. My front went down, my back went up and I remember trying roll at the same time as I was trying to soften my bikes landing with my feet. My bike was smart enough to land derailer side up, but the seat got scuffed up
Actually, given that there was only superficial damage to the bike and my legs, the overall experience was kinda fun, but I don't plan on doing that on a regular basis.

Yes! Yes! What a hero!

It does hurt. I recently kissed the local flora myself. The bruises and scratches hurt, enjoy them while you have them. Once they heal all you will have is a memory. Until the next time, that is...

Think of them as medals earned, in the field of valour!:D

I like to go over the bars on a regular basis. Its my favorite kind of crash because it looks so spectacular to the bystanders, hey if youre gonna go down it might as well be fun to watch!

goin over the front is the best.. i still have the habit of using only the front brake so when in an emergency i need to slam on my brakes, the front is the one i slam.

Crashes are fun! My last one:

I was truckin down this steep hill (like 60 degree drop) and at the bottom of the hill was a sudden left turn(with no bank, just a wall to crash into). so I started into the turn and tapped a little bit too much rear brake. Tire locked up just past the wall and I went sideways in a straight line scraping on the ground for what I counted 60 paces.

I was scraped up sooooooo badly.. but thats light in comparison to other injuries!

cheers!
