It is a standard Bike Planet fender. You just have to place it over the rear brake bridge and use some ties. I was looking at a friend who had the same set up tonight.

how effective is skidding/skipping in the snow? I've always wondered how you east coast cats stop your brakeless steeds in the winter.

It's not. I used to just go about 10 mph slower than I normally would and backpedal when I wanted to slow down/stop. At a slower speed though, it's easier to never have to stop.

like gnatthew said, it is not too effective and you must go slower/anticipate your moves a little more. I found that hockey style skids work best

I have a fender like that, but it's not very effective. Still better than completely fender-less, though.

there's a clip on zefal road fender on ebay. it's narrow, and works ok. but better than nothing!

actually, for the track frames, it's a bit harder, since there's less clearance. this fender only works on my conversions.

yay snow!! hopefully we'll really get some this year. The good thing about snow is, it doesn't hurt to fall in it!
but to the original topic, that fender *looks* nice but you'll want something wider especially for slush. I have SKS clip-ons that work OK, but they are still only partial coverage, your feet still get wet.

I had clip-ons on my first commuter. They sucked.
I'm going to assume that you're not interested in and/or don't have clearance for full fenders. I'd advise going the route I used on my Sedona. Get a seatpost-mount fender and back it up with a pair of mudboards;one on the seattube and one on the downtube. This combo works fine,can be quickly removed w/out tools,and won't clog up with snow.
