WHAT trails do you ride? Names, type, conditions, skill level...etc.

Me, Sarasota, FL.

Trails include North Port Myakahatchee Trail (Closest but sandy), Carter Road in Mulberry(A lot of fun and fast), Santos in Belleview(Favorite), Hard Rock in Ocala(Very Technical), and Razorback in Reddick (Yes that's actually a town! - Also very fun!).

I live in Walla Walla, SE Washington State. Seattle and Portland are 5 hours away, Spokane 3 and the Columbia gorge within 20 miles. The distances may seem long to Europeans, but great for us. We also have 33 wineries in town, makes for an interesting tour. There are so many trails here but the best would be North Fork (though the singletrack climb out is 2,320 ft in 3.3 miles - a grunt when you are tired), South Fork (which includes a 21 mile downhill) and the Watershed Perimeter Loop. We also have miles and miles of fireroads and double track, perfect for CX. Oh, and the road riding is very good - the state championships are hosted here every spring. Cycling paradise, that's why I live here. :D

From Ashford,Al which is very southeast right near ga and fl line. Only have 1 local trail.Troy state dothan campus trail .We also ride trails in tallahassee,fl(tom brown,cadilac,red bug,munson),or up to B'ham oak mtn(great trail and camping!) .Favorite trails so far that i've been to are Tsali.

Im from Mankato Minnesota. Its about 1 hour southwest of Minneapolis and about 2 hours west of Rochester. I ride Mount Kato here in Mankato and Holzinger Lodge in Winona.

I'm from Oro Valley, AZ...a suburb of Tucson.

My favorite trails include:

50-year trail (5 minutes from house) - lots of desert singletrack...think cactus and rocks.

and

Fantasy Island (about an hour across town) - a trail-system developed specifically for mountain bikes...more desert singletrack, roller-coaster type ride. All one-way loops, choose which loops to ride for 7-miles to 18-miles of fun.

Neither one of these are super technical, but there is a little bit of everything for most people.

I live in Jackson, Mississippi. We only have one local trail that is legal to ride...Forest Hill Park. It's about a 5.5 mile loop of rolling singletrack. No major elevation gains (MS's pretty flat). About an hour and a half south of Jackson is the Clear Creek Recreation Area near Bude, Mississippi. Pretty good trails. Ive only ridden em about a half dozen times, though. Mostly rolling singletrack about a ten mile loop. One poster mentioned Oak Mountain in B'ham...now that is one rockin' trail!! I did the Bump n' Grind race there three years in a row '97 '98 and '99. If it was less than 3.5 hours away, I would ride it on a regular basis. That is all

I'm out of Somersworth, New Hampshire.

There isn't much to ride right around here - only a small pond with some rough trails running around the outside of it. About 30? minutes away I can get to Mount Agamenticus in Maine. This is one of the better trail systems that I have used-a good mixture from very technical to pretty easy pedalling. Then theres Kingman Farm(Durham, NH), where the University of NH mountain bike team trains. This is also a good mixture of difficulty levels. By far the best place in NH to mountain bike, however, might be the trails in Glen, NH, right around the bottom of Mt. Washington, the largest peak around here. Here, there is some very technical, very fun singletrack. Recommend it to anyone travelling in NH. I also race at several of the ski resorts in northern NH in the summer. Luckily, there are an abundance of races here in NH.

Home of the 96 World Cup ... too many trails to mention, basicly if there is bush nearby, there is going to be a trail too.

Race Beginner XC and ride XC and a little road.

I'm in Jefferson City, MO. Midway between Kansas City and St. Louis. Nearest local trail is Binder Lake Park. Luckily it's also the best by far. :) Hilly and fast. Several creek crossings. All singletrack. No fireroads! I hate fireroads. Only about a 10-15 minute drive. In Columbia there's Rock Bridge State Park which is usually also nice but pretty washed out right now. It's < 30 minutes from here. There are several others around but those two are the best.
I ride a Giant NRS 2 on the trails.
I also have a Bianchi Axis which I ride on the Katy Trail, (rail-trail), when it's too muddy on the singletrack.
Why doesn't everyone tell what they ride also?

Whistler BC

River runs through it - technical flat starts slow ends hard. Manmad obstacles
Forplay - Living hell. Double diamond uphill. I don't know anyone who can ride the whole thing. Diamond back down. total ride 3 hours.
Emeral Forest - low to mid level normal non technical non manmade.
Mels Dilema - Intermediate to advanced. Good overall trail nothing manmade that I have seen. (new trail to me)
Flank - xc - long - steep frist climb rewards with several branching off dh's (including into mels dilema)

My wife and I are in Chatsworth, CA. 95% of the trails around here are like the one in the pic. It is called Hummingbird. Just after the rocks in the back ground the trail gets steep and technical with very tight switchbacks. There are also some single tracks off this trail with names such as S&M, G-Spot, DirtyBird, Pin-Ball and their names speak for them selfs.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

1. Frick Park - technical, twisty singletrack with climbs and some of the sweetest trails ever. Most notable - the Rollercoaster.
2. Boyce Park - twisty singletrack with logs and a couple of small stream crossings.
3. Hartwood Acres - a little bit of everything; switchbacks, log piles, baby heads, and twisty, technical singletrack.
4. Seven Springs (Laurel Mountains) - NORBA race course.

haha...must be a west coast thing to name trails after sex. We have similar names around here. Dirty bird haha :)

I'm from Faversham, UK...

Still exploring the area around here, but some of the fields north of where I live looks promising.

Used to be an XC head, but now happy to poddle around and enjoy the scenery.

Saying that, I'm having a crack at the local cross series here, and if that goes well, I might do a few MTB races next year :D

Favourite trail to date is the Dorset Coast Path...extreme ups and downs and truely marvellous at 5am in the morning.

Where? Out of Africa, now in the UK south-east, in a yukky little town called Crawley about 30km south of London and about the same due north of Brighton on the coast. This part of the world is busy, lots of urban sprawl, busy roads.

What? Still finding my way. Most rides are recreational and placid, though I sneak off-road through a forest area near where we live. In fact, I'm so honest about it, that I want to find who owns the land and see if I can get legit permission to ride it. Better that than a shotgun up my a$$. If I can't, then I'll ride it anyway.:)

There aren't too many frontier trails in this part of the world, but the local mtb mags do print some good routes each month.

I like on a gravel road so ride the mtb the through the hay fields and woods and on local roads.
There are lots of Cival War Battlefields around locally and when I'm willing to drive furthur some rails to trails.
