What bike stand should I purchase for in home use?

If you don't need it to be portable, and have a sturdy wall to anchor it to, one of these would be very nice: Park Tool PRS-4W (http://www.parktool.com/tools/PRS_4W.shtml) That's the same clamp used on their professional stands. They also offer a PRS-4 OS model that mounts to a horizontal surface such as a very heavy workbench (or I imagine it could be bolted to the side of a twin-2x4 wall stud also).
Welcome to the forums, by the way! :)
I like my Wrench Force stand. It is convenient to use, but tough enough for some abuse. I use my stand more than most people and found it to be reliable. I probably use it at least three times per week - usually more than that.
Yesterday, for example, I had a 40+ lb old bike on it and was wacking on the seatpost with a hammer trying to remove the post. The stand held up to the abuse.
I think it is not as expensive as ParkTool.

Any Park model is a good bet. I have used the PCS-1 for years without problem.
A friend and I went halves on a Park PRS-6 single arm repair stand about 10 years ago, and its performed flawlessly! About the only thing we would have done differently when ordering it would have been to get it w/adjustable jaws (Good for clamping it to anything other than the seat post). ;)

I had the Park legs foldable model (PRS1?) and it was find for basic use, but would not hold the weight of a bike flipped all the way around, upside down, without the legs lifting off the ground.
I've since gone to the heavy duty model with the 70lbs plate. Now NOTHING moves when I spin a bike around on it. Best money I ever spent.
