I've had my New World Tourist for 3 weeks and love it more every day. I have even sold my Lemond Zurich and my Trek 520 since I prefer the BF to either one. I was amazed by the comfort of the bike. For years I always gravitated back to my 520 because of its comfort. However, the NWT is even better (probably because of the slight flex in the lightweight swan-necked stem).
However, I am starting to panick because what if I only need one bike. How will I spend my money? What will I lust after? In a moment of desperation (and anticipating long touring miles) I broke down and ordered a "Thudbuster" seat post for my NWT. I always thought that suspension seatposts were a gimmick, robbing the bike of energy and doing little to improve ride. I guess I was wrong. With the thudbuster on, the Bike Friday is like driving a cadillac. I know I'll appreciate it when I do the Lands End to John O'Groats run in the UK next year.
I think, for touring, it is worth ordering your Bike Friday with the Thudbuster, which would work out cheaper than buying one later and throwing away the 28.6mm seatpost that comes with the bike.
