Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What is it about some people? Or maybe it's the anonymous online sniping that's easy... that causes people to be obnoxious, righteously opinionated and downright rude! Even when you're not face-to-face with someone, a lot more than just the verbal ideas gets across. Sure, not all of the 60-80% of communications that's non-verbal will make it across the wires, but the context and diction you use will certainly transmit your attitude and intent. Manners applies everywhere...

Why is it that so many people are so intolerant and unaccepting of others' ideas nowadays? Just because someone doesn't think the same way as you and hold the same values, DOES NOT mean somehow that they are beneath you in any way and are deserving of harsh-judgment, disdain and attack... geeessh! Even practicing that awful word I hear tossed around, "tolerance", is better than what you're doing. But it still wreaks of attitude and arrogance (notice the similar word-roots?). It conveys an attitude and impression of, "I'll put up with you, but I still think I'm better than you!". No, we need to take things to a higher level of acceptance, which is more equal. It sounds more like, "I understand that we have different views, and even though I may not understand it, I hold your views and values as equal to my own." :)

Notice that you DO NOT need to understand another's viewpoint in order to accept them. I'll never understand why some African tribes cut their lips and stuff big wooden hockey-pucks into them. And I'll definitely never understand HOW other people can actually find that ATTRACTIVE? But hey, I still think it's great! So what if I prefer chocolate ice-cream and you like vanilla. There's no possible way I can justify attacking you and saying that because you prefer a different flavor ice-cream that somehow I'm superior and can judge you and call you names. There's no way you can justify that one flavor of ice-cream is "better" than the next. Grow up!

Then you go and make a stupid homophobic attack on a sincere aussie who's only expressed his opinion on the "******" girl on the cruiser I posted. People and their cultures are different everywhere that's fine... that's life! Here in southern California we certainly push the edge and limits of social behaviors to new levels and it very well may be over the edge for those living elsewhere. Certainly not off a cliff and straight down into Purgatory like that other American city with a very fitting nickname.... Maybe that's why you've got a such twisted sense of ethics and manners and spout your mouth like a child.... and end up ruining some fun for the rest of us.

THANKS A LOT, YOU'RE SUCH A:

P.S. maybe a mod can move his over to a more fitting section for ranting & raving (like FOO) after this has caught attention, since this was where it originated. Too bad, I had a lot more hotties to post too. :(

These technically aren't bikes, but they can't go on the freeways either. You can still draft off them for good motor-pacing practice. :)

So danno, when someone asks you "what do you do for work" what would you say! :DWell, I've been unemployed for 10-years so it's hard to describe my profession.... my biz-cards do say "Unemployed Beach Bum" for a title. :) I actually got screwed in a really bad business deal with a bad partner a couple years back and am still paying it off... just waiting for soybeans, coffee and heating-oil to go back up... :(
