I've had a 55cm Bianchi Pista that I bought used a few years ago and it's never quite fit me right. I'm "supposed" to take 55cm frame I've been told (I'm about 5'10 and pretty average legs and arms) but it's just always felt big to me. I was wondering if these frames tend to run big or if I'm just better off with something smaller. I have like no standover room on the bar standing barefoot straddling the bike.

The next question of course is what to replace it with. Maybe a 53cm Soma Rush?

I'm 6'1" and have a 57cm Pista frame.
I too don't have any standover clearance but it doesn't bother me because the reach (top tube length) is comfortable.
In general terms ,55cm does sound a little big for 5'10", though.

i'm 5'10" and i have a 55. i have about an inch of standover clearance.
guess everybody's different.
they run true to size. the 55 has a 55 top tube/55 seat tube.

Stem length? Flipped? Spacers? Seat adjustment? It's more than just the frame involved in fitting a bike... that being said, you might like a smaller frame as your preference.

I'm 6'2" and ride a 56cm Cannondale Track (93' with the forward sloped toptube) with a 55cm toptube and a 90cm stem slammed to the bottom. Super overly tight geometry and I love it. I hate the way a 57cm/100cm stem (my supposed correct fit) feels.

and try wearing shoes!

nah kidding. mine's 53, i'm 5-9 about an inch of balls clearance with both feet on the ground. standover's your issue. compare seattube length PLUS bb height when sizing another bike, if you don't have the option to try it before buying.

and if you do you're set.

Like with most track frames, they do run taller compared to road frames due to the slightly higher BB.

They're measured center to top.
