On handle bars

When you are looking at handle bars what does it mean when the rise of the handle bar is 7" or 4".Thanks i was on a website and i was at the parts section and i was looking at the handle bars and it said the rise was 7" and the other handlebar had a 4" rise

That's how tall they are, from the stem to the grips.

i fid that 6.5" to 7" are the go. but dont go to low and then cut ur forks down or u will get a sore back everytime u ride. gaurenteed

i thought you measured bars middle to middle. and i like 'em high! but not slam size.

go 6.5 or 7 you don't want to go to much less than that or a sore back will be yours
