Mavic Cosmic Carbon wheelset
Cinelli Ram bars

Well, I have the frame already... and I dream about completing it someday. It looks something like this one, except it's blue and it's a 58cm:
http://images.andale.com/f2/113/106/4345358/1028218043159_400709_1.jpg

I'd like to build it up with
Chris King hubs
Mavic Open Pro rims Continental GP3000 tires an Ultegra drivetrain, except with a Sachs chain
Campy Chorus brakeset
my Speedplay pedals
Selle Italia Flite saddle

So far I have a Chris King headset, a quill stem, and a Sachs 9sp chain. And until I find full-time work, the poor thing is going to have to sit in its box here by my desk. :(

am looking at a Carrera Hercules RC ( www.redroseimports.com ) frame- although the aegis frames look sweet as well.

if i stay with 'last years closeouts' and get lucky, buying a few parts here and there to hide and defray the true expense it will be a couple of years.
which brings up a question. which parts should i buy last to take advantage of the 'latest' technology? a selle will always be a selle. i can imagine buying a shimano 8-speed in late 1998 thinking that it is the ultimate group for your bike then seeing the 9-speed come out the next year.

That's why it's called a "dream" bike! Money should be no object. Splurge!

After all these years, I think I already have my dream bike (http://www.neebu.net/~khuon/cycling/bikes/Aegis/2001-Aro_Svelte/). If anything, I'd be inclined to upgrade what I have over purchasing a new bike... thinking about switching over to Campy. That said, there are quite a few other dream bikes I would love to have. Currently on the top of my want list is the Serotta Ottrott ST (http://www.serotta.com/pages/ottrottstbg.html).

2. Pre-Columbus Cinelli Supercorsa
3. Colnago Carbonissimo
4. Seven Odonata Ti

But the Casati is still it...

Thanks for the thumbs up. I just had my agent over to make sure all toys in toy garage were covered... I am really trying to win that ole toy race. He was a bit perplexed in the face when we spoke about policy riders for coverage...LOL

Gawd this is making me drool. (Insert drooling smiley here.)

It would probably be a custom fitted Serotta CSi (TdF lugs, natch), or maybe a Legend Ti. Actually, I'd have to try both and make a call based on the ride. ;)

Campy Chorus 10 spd drivetrain. Record hubs and good ole 32 butted spoke open pros. I'll worry about the other stuff once I've ordered the frame.
