Does anyone else think this is a bit of an over-reaction by the police?

It pretty much means that no one else cares. The other people are sitting down yet they have the ability to stand which is what they should do when the group passes by in rememberence. The man who can not stand (yet does anyway) shows that he is the only one who actually cares, thus making the picture ironic.

Thats a good picture.
It could mean lots of things.

Thanks. That picture makes more since now. About that picture...thats total crap. There was no point in doing that to a cyclist. What was the motive?-there was none. Maybe they thought it was a member of one of those evil terrorist-based, charity cycling clubs that are trying to destroy the world by not emiting toxic gasses into the air with their cars and rasing money for disease research. What kind of reviews is this getting in the news?

Thats better!

crikey its your worst nightmare come true.

I hope they sued the arse off that cop seeing as they had some video evidence.
Wouldn't like to think what the cops did to the genuine demonstrators:eek:

Most likely the officer screwed up. However there is the posibility that they told the cyclist not to go that way and amongst all the noise that could have been around the cyclist did not hear the officer so the officer reacted as if they were blowing him off.

I am always nervous about posting my opinion, because I have no interest in flaming people or arguing. But I couldn't restrain myself this time, so here goes: maybe the Cop overreacted. But the things the protesters were suggesting be done in my hometown were crazy, I can't blame the police for trying to control the number of people in that location or being edgy. Many people in this area were on edge today. It seems that however unfortunate this incident is, she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
