I've got a flip-flop wheel with a fixed cog & lock ring on one side. I'd like to put a freewheel on the other. I see "BMX" freewheels on e-Bay. They work with my wheel?

Yup it will work. I'm using a Shimano BMX freewheel on my flip flop until i find money to get a fixed cog for the other side...

:edit: on a side note, could others email them asking for a flip flop track hub, because the only track hub they make is the eccentric one and while it's great I want a normal hub, I want a flip-flop and I want them to make one. there stuff is so nice. it would be so easy for them...anyway, sorry for the hijack.

There are different sizes of freewheels. BMX are smaller and can have fewer teeth without the whacky outboard pawl thingamabobber. A road freewheel is larger and can only go to 16 teeth normally at the lowest.

you sure? i just took the cassette off my old schwinn and the lowest on it is 14t.

What do you mean? BMX-style singlespeed freewheel made for roadbikes? Don't think that exists. Oldschool multigear freewheels did have 14T, and there are 15T MX freewheels with the standard threading as well (These have whacky outboard pawl stuff). Then there are smaller BMX freewheels for special hubs that go down to 12T or so.

you should email them. I'm sure you can get some somewhere off the internet. Those cranks are badass, and if I ever get enough jack I'm gonna get some.

ON most BMX hubs there are 2 different threadings. One is smaller in diameter than the other. The larger one is the same as road hub freewheel threading. The smallest BMX freewheel for this threading is a 16 tooth (actually 15 but it is a specially designed).
