I cooked up a fat Spanish omelet again for breakfast (seems to be my specialty) for Shelly and Natasha. We had good conversation over our meal and then I had to go. I stopped back by the Hillbury Farm to say goodbye to Heather, her sons, and Lucho. I traded email info and then let two of her sons test drive my machine. The younger one had trouble steering the large heavy bike but the older one rode it better with more control. I said goodbye and cruised into town for a snack and then to the ferry terminal. I crossed over to Fanny Bay and started south again. The ride was nice and mostly along the water. There are many oyster growers out along these beaches. I stopped for some overpriced fish and chips at a place on the water and then as I continued south, I noticed the traffic get heavier and houses more frequent. I cycled through Parksville and then Nanaimo, which was a pretty big city. I ended up finding a camp spot off the highway on the southern outskirts of Nanaimo. I smoked a roach of my last Cortesian bud and munched on trail mix while I wrote about the last couple of days. The weather was a bit cool, so I had to get some warm sock to put on before bed. (62 miles)

Peace
