I just picked up an interesting new track frame! It's a Vitali and it was made in Italy it's a beautiful highlighter yellow, looks like it has de rosa lugs and has pretty interesting geometry. It has the signature of a Paolo Vitali on it and I have no idea who that is. Google has proven fruitless and nobody I ask has never heard of the bike so I am forced to ask you guys... has anyone heard of this company or of this guy? I'd really like to know something about the bike. thanks... and pictures will go up as soon as the batteries for my camera charge up.
I saw your new digs locked up on Ashburton, nice stuff!

thanks! how was yamaguchi?
good times. i just moved into my new loft space and have already started getting orders for stuff, and have more repair work than i can even get to! my latest track frame's paint job should be finished shortly and i'll put up some pictures.
There was an Italian cycling squad named GS Vitali. I saw them in Lombarda in April. I remember seing some of the Italian town bikes with the Vitali name around Lake Como.
A quick google brought up:
http://www.novatesi.it/VIA/VIALBA/NEW-SERVICE/VITALI.htm - It's probably the house brand of this bike shop/shell gas station in Milan.

one of my LBS-es has been selling Vitalis for as long as I can remember. They have Vitali frames hanging from the rafters by the dozens.
I always assumed that they were one of their house brands, or that they were the primary distributor or something.

alright so i'm sorry it took me so long to post these but my camera has been acting weird and I just now got it to work. It's a shame because by bike looks like a POS compared to the vanilla up right now but eh. The pictures are crap... well because my camera cost $50 and they don't do the paint job any justice... right jacob?
baxtefer: are these the same type as in your lbs? I'm not sure that it's a house brand because I've never seen a house brand with the builders signature on it.
if anyone has any more info in regards to this bike, please post it up.

this bike shouldn't be compared to the vanilla.
looks subtle, elegent, classic. know what year?

yeah, same vitali. they've changed their font recently though.
I said house brand, but probably meant that the shop has some relationship with the frame builder over in Italy. all just assumptions though.

I like it because it looks like a real bike. That vanilla's just silly.

the sn on the bb is g01 99 56 and i'm pretty sure it's not a '56 so I'm going to assume it's about a '99 because it had a pretty recent miche primato groupo on it but not the newest one.
thanks for the compliments guys. I'm thinking of putting all black parts on it in stead of white for the sake of everything looking ok in 6months unlike all of my white parts on my colnago.
