Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Have you ever converted Fixie conversion BACK to Geared?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. got a box of derailleurs from converted road bikes?
Do you keep them because you are going to convert that FIXIE BACK to a geared bike?

I have gone back and forth from fixie to geared to singlespeed on many of my bikes. I usually have one fixed gear at any one time. I just get antsy and working on bikes is like meditation to me. My ex hated it because I had boxes of bike parts and I'd converted our dining room to a workshop. The old parts always seem to come in handy so I have to keep them.
OK, I admit it...Hi, my name is Urban, and I am a pack rat.
and I knocked off all the braze-ons for good measure
I keep everything. I have plans for nothing.
Badges.. we dont need no stinkin badges.. I mean brakes.. ;)

I ground off the cable stops and kept the derailures... figure that out. I guess I just can't throw anything out.

I have a bike that im thinking of converting and one that is converted but the frame wasn't quite nice enough. So im in a bit of a pickle deciding if i want to convert the nicer bike to fixed for the winter and either keeping it that way or converting it back in the summer. Or i could go single/fixed. So many options.. Seriously though, what would u do with old suntour friction stuff anyways, not like there's a market for non indexing stuff.

Why is the post titled "have you ever..."
while the poll is "do you plan to..."
this is some shoddy science

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a complete 5 or 6 speed campy or da/600 setup so that I can make my current bike a roadie and transfer my wheels to maybe a custom or nicer frame when I have the scratch. Drops and hoods have shown me that road geometry and positioning suits me, but that me and fixed 30 or more mile rides do not.

even more reason to know the difference between past and future tenses...
regardless, I kept the braze-ons and hanger on the fixie I ride the most because sometimes I like to ride it to races, rides and competitions. Put the fix wheel on my back, run a 1x9 so that I can ride to events (I'm talking like 90-100 miles over hills here) and then put the fix back on and take out some chain links. Has worked pretty well so far. I can go from fixed to geared and v/v in about 4 minutes.
