Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What is the best training program? The one that Carmichael have in "Lance Armstrong Training Program" or Frielīs "Cyclist Training Bible"? And i'm not talking about begginers programs...

What about Ed Burke's "Serious Cycling" or Eddie B's "Bicycle Road Racing" for the old-school approach?
I think you'll find lots of great information in any of the four books. All cover many types of training and racing so you should have most of your bases covered with any single volume and you might even consider getting two.

IMO. . . at the amateur level I doubt it matters whose program you use. Whatever inspires you to ride more, suffer more, recover better, eat better, sleep better and, ulimately, ride faster is the best one.
Once you start racing for a paycheck and you've entered the top 1% of cyclists on the planet, then which training program you use might matter.
I have Friel's and Carmichael's books, and have read some of Dr. Burke's book while at the bookstore. Friel makes it all seem like so much work - a lot for an amateur with a life. Carmichael's seems like an advertisement for his coaching service and doesn't give enough specifics (so call him and sign up for coaching). Burke's book is technical, informative, but again, so much info - do I really need that when I'm riding 150 mi/wk?
