Classic & Vintage - Looking for info on a road bike I have... made by DC Douglas.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have asked before about this bike but no one could answer the question. I purchased the bike at at local flea market a number of years ago for a fair prce. I recognized the quality of the bike when i saw it so I bought it and it is a great ride. I guess it is a mid 80's bike... Columbus Matrix tubing... shimano 600 brakes, crank... Suntour Cyclone 7000 6spd index shifting front and rear deurailures... duralce hubs... Matrix rims.
I have never heard of this manufacurer before and want to know where and when it was manufactured.
never heard of DC Douglas. This looks to be a very nice bike, good parts and good quality steel for the frame.
Douglas DC-3 gooney birds, though...

I thought of the DC-3 too when I saw the title. My dad flew the 3's and the 4's back before the age of jets. There's a C-47 (think that was the military designation) that flys overhead every year at one of the big 4th of July celebrations locally.
